Welcome to The Pups Academy, where training begins with intention and each puppy is seen for who they are…not just where they need to go.
When you choose to enroll your puppy in our program, you are stepping into a thoughtful, developmentally sound approach designed to give your puppy a meaningful head start. Our goal is simple: to help you bring home a puppy who is confident, responsive, and already moving in the right direction.
With a background in special education, our approach is rooted in understanding the individual. No two puppies are exactly alike. Each one comes with their own temperament, learning style, and pace of development. We take the time to recognize those differences and build a training plan that supports each puppy in reaching their full potential through understanding dog behavior and positive reinforcement.
This program is not about rushing outcomes or checking boxes. It is about laying a strong and steady foundation. During their time with us, your puppy will be introduced to essential fundamentals such as early obedience, socialization, confidence-building, and trust. We also establish important routines, including crate training with the goal of restful nights, and a consistent potty schedule to support a smoother transition into your home.

Understanding that the training programs of the Puppy Academy at Cottage Garden Goldadors are foundational and focus on skills development, socialization and basic obedience. Along with being committed to follow the detailed recommendations that are given in the graduation training report.
Understanding that the time required for your puppy to transition completely into the new routine of a new home can vary and will require patience and consistent follow-through on your part.
Understanding that when your puppy arrives home it is still a young puppy and continued training will be necessary for maintenance of skills already learned and mastery of all skills that are in progress.

Meet The Pups Academy Trainers
As a retired Special Education Teacher and Autism Specialist, Amy chose to follow a path that blends her passion for learning with her lifelong love of dogs. When Creekside English Goldens invited her to develop their Foundational Puppy Training Program, it was a natural fit.
Amy is a Certified Dog Obedience Trainer, Certified Service Dog Trainer, and AKC Evaluator, qualified to assess all title levels including Canine Good Citizen (CGC). Her training approach is rooted in positive reinforcement and guided by the LIMA model, with a strong focus on meeting each puppy as an individual.
What Amy values most is getting to know each puppy’s unique temperament and potential. Because she works with them from birth, she is able to thoughtfully guide their development, creating a strong foundation that prepares them for family life—and, for some, future service work.
Daniel has been mentored as an integral part of our training team for the past four years and is developing skills in both obedience and service dog training. With a calm, grounded presence and an uncanny ability to read canine body language, Daniel’s intuitive connection with dogs has earned him the nickname “the dog whisperer” among our team and clients alike.
Currently serving as an Associate Trainer, Daniel brings patience, empathy, and a deep respect for each dog’s individual personality and pace of learning. As he nears the completion of his apprenticeship, Daniel is preparing to pursue formal certifications in Dog Obedience and Service Dog Training—an exciting next step in a journey that has already impacted so many dogs and families.
