Frequently Asked Questions
Our English Golden Retriever puppies are born and raised in a highly supervised and nurturing environment and are extensively integrated into our daily family life and receive lots of individualized care and affection. We have meticulously developed puppy care protocols that prepare each puppy for a successful and easy transition to their new home – including sleeping through the night and ease of potty training.
What distinguishes English Golden Retrievers from American Golden Retrievers?
English Golden Retrievers have a lighter colored and less dense coat, a stockier build, and a blockier head compared to their American counterparts. They also tend to have a lower risk of certain health issues, such as cancer.
What is an English Golden Retriever’s temperament like?
English Goldens are known for their laid back, calm, friendly and confident nature. This makes them excellent choices to fill the roles of family pets and service/therapy dogs.
How much exercise do English Goldens need?
Like all Golden Retrievers, English Goldens are active dogs that require regular outlets for exercise and intellectual stimulation. Daily walks and playtime in a secure areas are recommended, but avoid over-exercising puppies to protect their developing joints.

Fill out an application, and we will be in touch through email regarding the next steps.
Are they good therapy dogs?
The calm, friendly and trusting nature of our English Goldens make them excellent candidates for therapy work.
Are English Goldens easy to train?
Yes! Our English Goldens are easily trained to the expectations of their new homes – they are devoted and eager-to-please when shown consistent and boundaries. You can do this yourself or enlist the assistance of a professional trainer (either in your area or through enrollment in our Puppy Academy).
When should they be spayed or neutered?
At Creekside, we recommend waiting until a female has completed her second heat cycle and a male is at least 2 years of age before spaying or neutering to allow for proper bone and joint development.
